Nursery

Hazen hates when I say that "we" have been working on the nursery. So I guess I will give him the credit and say that Hazen has done an excellent job getting the nursery ready. Painting stripes is quite the challenge. He also refinished the floors. What a great husband! Here is our nursery. Will have blues and greens to accent the brown.

Thanksgiving Road Trip

The four of us (Hazen, Me, Lucy and Baby) headed out the day before Thanksgiving. We had a quick, but very nice dinner with some friends just outside Salt Lake City. Thursday morning we went south to St. George. Nice 70 degree weather for a couple days to warm us up. The state parks allow dogs on trails but the national parks don't, so we were slightly limited on where we could take Lucy. We ended up going to a remote part of the Grand Canyon that not many people travel to. Drove about 75 miles on a gravel/dirt road which was not quite what we were expecting. The view was amazing though once we got there. I have never been there and Hazen was there when he was young. Didn't really want to leave because we had to get back on the gravel road for hours. We did a loop back up through Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks and back to Salt Lake on Saturday. The parks were beautiful. Huge red cliffs and wierd terrain. The elevation at Bryce Canyon was pretty high, so we did get a little snow there. Tried to make it all the way back to Boise Saturday but couldn't do it. It was a long time in the car (and more bathroom breaks than Hazen would have liked) but we had a great time.

Baby Stuff

It's a BOY!!!!! We had our ultrasound yesterday and the baby looks healthy. The only view/measurements they couldn't see very well was the heart. They said everything looked good but want to do one more ultrasound in 4 weeks to get the last measurements. We have been very excited about the news and Hazen even did a little shopping with me this morning for a couple things. I have still been doing well with the pregnancy and can only hope that the second half will be as easy as the first.

Can you see him smiling at you? He even gave us a little wave during the ultrasound.

He has to have a little blue hoodie to match daddy
Good sale at Osh Kosh. Got some summer shorts for the little guy.
This one's my favorite. It's hard to tell how small and cute it is in this photo. AND the top is a onesie!

Shawna and Spud's wedding turned out nicely. She was a beautiful bride. Here are a few pics.

Dog Sitting

Our friend, Monica, lives in Boise but work in D.C. Her husband and 8 month old son are still living in Boise full time, but decided to go see her for a couple weeks. In trying to cut down on the kennel bill, we watched them over the weekend. They are good pups and Lucy enjoyed playing with them. She did get a little jealous but there were no major catastrophes.

We're Boring

We have been pretty boring lately. Haven't done much of anything the last several weekends. Hazen is done with the landscape company but still sort of working for them. This month he is blowing out sprinkler systems and having to actually do some manual labor again. Don't feel bad, it's good for him. He was losing his calluses. I just had my 16 week check on Friday. The baby seems to be doing okay. Listened to the heartbeat again so we know that the baby is still fine. Next ultrasound to determine gender is scheduled for November 6. We took Lucy down to the park for a walk today. It's really starting to get cold over here. Some pretty fall colors around though. These pics are from the park.

****Asada Fest '09****

Heather and Ryan had tickets to come visit last weekend so Hazen decided to do a big BBQ. However, he didn't want to do the same old thing so he went for Carne Asada. I also made some chicken fajitas since I don't really do beef. Hazen went to the local mexican grocery store and ended up getting 13 pounds of meat. Needless to say, we have a lot of leftovers. Anyways, we were talking to my parents Thursday night and somehow convinced them to come over for the feast as well. The BBQ turned out pretty well. We had a few different neighbors and some people from our softball team here also. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the BBQ and I only got a couple of the rest of the weekend. Here is all I have.

Breakfast Nachos: Chips, beans, hashbrowns, carne asada, chicken, scrambled eggs, cheese
Hazen took us trap shooting. I shot at two and missed and let someone else have a turn. My next go-round I hit the first one and gave up. It wasn't going to get any better than that.
What up B****es!
Ryan had a great time. Huge celebration when he hit one.

Shawna's Shower

Well, it's been a couple weeks, but I'm finally getting around to it. I flew home for Shawna's Bridal Shower over Labor Day Weekend. Hazen stayed in Idaho and ended up going camping in the desert with Lucy, which he informs me "it's hot in the desert". I had a great time while I was home and of course dad made some excellent food. Shawna's shower was at Spud's parents house. Spud definitely has a lot of family. Shawna raked in the goods. I don't think she even needs to have a wedding ceremony now because she probably got everything she needs already. Was a nice shower though. I was especially fond of the chocolate fountain. I didn't get many pictures, but here are a few.
