Deadwood Lookout
We had a great first camping trip with Sawyer. And only a couple bumps in the road. I think we will definitely try to reserve this lookout again for next year. It is behind a locked gate so no one else can be in there. It was so peaceful and relaxing. As you can see from the pictures below, there are windows all the way around with 360 degree views. There was an awesome lightning storm for hours Friday night that we could watch safely from inside the lookout. We were awakened by a noise that night that scared us at first, but what we came to imagine was a mouse and some plastic. It was pretty loud and woke us up several times throughout the night. The next morning we learned that it was a moth inside a plastic bag. We could have just thrown the stupid thing out and gotten better sleep. Sawyer started getting a cold Saturday night and we didn't have the nasal aspirator with us. We almost thought we were going to be packing up and leaving at one o'clock in the morning. Luckily we made it through the night. It was such a beautiful area though and it was nice to get out of town.

Summer Fun
We had such a great time while Travis, Sarah and Mason were here. It makes us want them to move here even sooner. We had a BBQ one night with a couple other kids around the same age as Mason. She got to pick out a pinata for the party. It was a great time. I wish I didn't have to work while they were here so I could have had more time with them. Here are some pics from their visit.

Midsummer Nights Dream
We had a wonderful time with our visitors last weekend. Mom, Grandma, Dawn and the kids all made the drive over. Grandma, Dawn and I went to the Shakespeare Festival one night and saw a great play. We did the Saturday market downtown, went to the zoo and had a water balloon fight. Grandma also got lots of Sawyer time in. We are now looking forward to a visit from Travis, Sarah and Mason next week.

Road Trip
We had a great time on our recent trip to WA. Sawyer was a road tripping machine. I think he got pretty exhausted though by the end of the trip. After Saturday at about noon, it was a struggle to keep him awake. On our drive over we stopped in Cle Elum to visit some friends. They have an 8 month old daughter that only weighs 2 pounds more than Sawyer. It was fun to get them together. The dental conference was exactly what it sounds like....boring. Really, it wasn't so bad. And I have all the continuing education hours for the year done. The BBQ at my parents was great. It would have been impossible to see all those people if it weren't for that. Still didn't get to see and talk to everyone as much as I would have liked. Luckily mom, grandma, Dawn and the kids will be here in a few weeks. Sawyer slept 6 of the 8 hours for the drive back to Boise. It sure is good to be home.
